Personality/Attitude:
Pein is the calm intelligent type. He rarely becomes angry, but can become annoyed easily by specific actions or by long-lasting battles. While his annoyance and anger do not reflect on his skills in battle, they may cause him to want to end the battle more quickly. He is able to observe many things, and he takes them all into account.
Pein likes to get straight to the point, but at times will be aloof. There may also be times when he mixes the two. For instance, he may state that he is going to do something, but he will not shed light on what he is going to do, or even where he is going to do it.
Pein can be perceived as full of himself. He sees himself as a God; a shinobi that surpasses all others in skill and intelligence. He sees himself as the one who is assigned the task of showing the world that fighting is pointless, yet, he has no problems fighting to achieve this goal. If you hinder his plans in any way, or may be perceived as an obstacle in any way, Pein will go out of his way to eliminate you. However, if you show potential to be able to aid him in his plans, he may try to use you.
History:
Pein - the leader of Akatsuki and a missing-nin from Amegakure. He is referred to as "leader" by all Akatsuki members except for his partner, who refers to him by his name. He has the respect of most of his subordinates (Hidan is an exception) and is the one directing their actions. Despite maintaining authority over the other members, he takes orders from Tobi, who is also revealed to be Madara Uchiha. During his initial appearances Pein appears as nothing more than a shadowy figure with unusual eyes, having several increasingly lighter gray circles around the pupil and a pink outline on the corners of his eyes. As the series progresses, however, elements of his appearance are slowly revealed, with both his auburn hair and the multiple piercing on his face and chin being shown before the rest of his face. Although he has not been seen in battle, the unnamed member states that Pein has never lost a fight. The only jutsu he is seen using, the Shape shifting Technique, allows him to clone his subordinates using human sacrifices that they control and can use to engage enemies without risking their lives. The clones formed are perfect copies of the original, even possessing the kekkei genkai and unique weapons they may possess. Their abilities are proportionate to the amount of chakra given to the clone (in its debut, he requested thirty percent). Pein also initiates and supervises the jutsu that forcibly brings a tailed beast out of its host. When it becomes necessary to gather his subordinates, he can communicate with them over long distances through some form of telepathy. Moreover, Pein has displayed the ability detect the movements and chakra of people traveling within rain. Pein has displayed at least a cursory knowledge of the various villages, as well as the underlying political and economic conditions in the country at large. When Hidan referred to the Konoha-nin as "godless heathens," he gave a short description of Konoha's "Will of Fire," then proceeded to note that all countries have some similar practice to justify their battles. He is also rumored to be the leader of one of the warring factions in the Land of Rain's current civil war, where he uses Amegakure as his base of operations.
In his past, Pein was known as Nagato, a pupil of Jiraiya. He survived the crisis of war and underwent training. It was then that he discovered that he possessed the Rinnegan.
In more recent, but still past events, the Akatsuki has captured the Jinchuuriki known as Sabaku no Gaara, now Kazekage of Sunagakure no Sato. Pein sent Sasori and Deidara to fell this Jinchuuriki, and they did. Following Gaara's capture, the Akatsuki extracted the Bijuu Shukaku and sealed it away within the Naraku no Ouja summon. Gaara was killed, but later revived by Chiyo. It was unfortunate that the Akatsuki could not revive Sasori. Pein destroyed whatever remained of Sasori later on, making sure that nobody could take him in as their own puppet.
Pein's latest ventures have brought him great assets. Tobi brought to Pein a man by the name of Izanagi, the Yondaime Tsuchikage. Izanagi was brought into the Akatsuki and paired with Tobi. Pein has also arranged for Omegate to go undercover into Amegakure, the target of the Akatsuki's takeover plan. Not only that, but Pein has come into contact with a man whom he had not seen for quite a long time. The man's name is, Jiraiya.

Kekkai Genkai:
Rinnegan (Transmigration Eye)
Rinnegan is the blood inheritance limit of Rokud¨ Sennin (Six Realms Sage) and his descendants. Rokud¨ Sennin was viewed as the original shinobi and his D¨jutsu was regarded as the most venerable of the three great D¨jutsu. As the original shinobi it was said he created modern Ninjutsu. The Rinnegan was regarded as a god of creation when the world was racked with chaos and as a weapon of destruction which could return everything to nothingness. Usage of the Rinnegan was said to give the user mastery over all six forms of Chakra nature manipulation.
The true extents of the Rinnegan abilities are currently unknown. Rain orphan Nagato was an inheritor of the D¨jutsu, and used it unconsciously when he was angry and afraid. He entered into a berserk state which allowed him to defeat a much stronger foe. It may be this same ability which allowed him to never lose a battle as "Pein". Nagato in the guise of "Pein" also has the ability to switch between six different bodies. Each body that Nagato shares also wields the Rinnegan. When Pein summons the other host bodies to fight alongside him, each Rinnegan host will share the same vision. Meaning what one Pein views, all his other bodies also view, even if their vision is damaged. By increasing the number of Rinnegan host bodies on the battlefield, Pain will increase the number of viewing angles and eliminate any potential blind spots.
Nagato's ability to switch between these host bodies probably gives rise to the "Transmigration" name. This is a cycle of reincarnation and rebirth seen in Hinduism and Buddhism. There are six states of rebirth in the cosmology, representing all the good and bad possibilities of life.
Alternate Bodies
Pein's first body (Yahiko), mainly used water element jutsu such as chakra sensing rain fall
Pein's second body (Fuuma clan), mainly used animal summoning techniques in the attack
Pein's third body that was summoned later, this thin body used taijutsu in attack and defense.
Pein's fourth body which was summoned the same time as the third body, this fat body used ability to absorb any chakra attack.
Pein's fifth body, primary use long range attack
Pein's sixth body
Ninjutsu:
Fūin Jutsu: Genryū Kyū Fūjin (Sealing Jutsu: Illusionary Dragon Nine Seal)
封印術: 幻龍九封尽
Genryū Kyū Fūjin is an Fūinjutsu technique utilized by Akatsuki. To further their goals, they seek to capture all the "Jinchūriki," literally "the power of human sacrifice" a.k.a. demon possessors such as Uzumaki Naruto and Gaara. Akatsuki seeks to use the Bijū (tailed demon beasts) for their unique abilities. Once they capture one of the Jinchuuriki, they will bring them to a hidden location. All nine members need not be physically present; they can use their astral projection technique to transport a spectral form of themselves into the cave.
The members will first summon the huge "king of hell" statue. This statue has its mouth bound and eyes covered. Once they begin the technique, the mouth binding will fall away and nine spectral dragons will emerge from its mouth to strike the Jinchūriki. This will then begin the extraction process. With the absence of Orochimaru, the process will take three straight day and nights. During this period the members will release the same exact amount of power as that of the Bijū; this synchronization will thus allow its removal. As the extraction continues, the statues eyes will open to reveal the current status of previous Jinchūriki captures, with irises appearing in the eyes to apparently represent a capture.
Shinra Tensai- requires as many of the bodies as can be summoned capable of destroing an entire city. as seen on manga chapters 429 and 430
Gofū Kekkai (Five Seal Barrier)
五封結界
Gofū Kekkai is an Fūinjutsu technique utilized by Akatsuki. The five "kin" (prohibition) seals act together to form a barrier to the entrance of their cave. The cave door itself is marked with one tag, and four other tags are located within a few hundred meters of each other. To remove the barrier, all five tags must be removed at the same moment.
Knowing that the barrier has this weakness, Akatsuki added a further protection. When the four surrounding tags are removed, a doppelganger of the person who removed it will emerge from the ground and battle them. The doppelganger can utilize all the same moves as the original, even bloodline techniques.
Akatsuki Astral Projection Technique (Unnamed)
This unnamed astral projection technique is used by Akatsuki to gather at one location, even while members are in different parts of the world. By forming the needed hand seal, an astral form of their being will appear at the desired location. This spirit can act in conjunction with other members to do combination jutsu like the Genryū Kyū Fūjin. While in the spirit form, the member’s voice will sound deep and distorted
Mind Speaking Technique (Unnamed)
A technique which requires no hand seals; Pein has shown the ability to speak within the minds of the other Akatsuki. How he does this is unknown, but it could be speculated that he uses the Akatsuki Rings to transmit this thoughts to them. This technique is only known by Pein.
Shōten no Jutsu (Shape Changing Technique)
象転の術
Shōuten no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique used by Pein. This technique will allow a person to sacrifice their body so it can take on the almost real form of another. This technique is like Edo Tensei, but it allows for a live ninja to inhabit the body of another. Also unlike Henge which is just an appearance transformation for a ninja, this technique will allow the sacrifice to play the host for a virtual copy of another ninja.
The other ninja will totally control the sacrifice and donate a portion of their own chakra to the sacrifice to provide it chakra. While the ninja acts in the sacrifice body, it can perform most all techniques it normally does apparently except for bloodline techniques, though even this may be a limitation of the chakra. This is because the techniques are limited to however much chakra the ninja has donated. Once the chakra runs out and the sacrificial body dies, the shape change will end and the lifeless body of the sacrifice will be revealed.
Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Art of Spiritualism)
口寄せの術
A powerful jutsu, Ninpo Kuchiyose allows a ninja to summon animals, objects and the dead to fight on their behalf. The ninja normally signs a blood contract with the animal species, which allows him to summon different size and skill levels of creature. Pein summons a wide range of things, including the following:
King of Hell Statue
This statue has its mouth bound and eyes covered. Once they begin the technique, the mouth binding will fall away and nine spectral dragons will emerge from its mouth to strike the jinchuuriki. This will then begin the extraction process. With the absence of Orochimaru, the process will take three straight day and nights. During this period the members will release the same exact amount of power as that of the bijuu, this synchronization will thus allow its removal. As the extraction continues, the statues eyes will open to reveal the current status of previous jinchuriki captures, with irises appearing in the eyes to apparently represent a capture
Pain's Giant Crustacean
Pain summons this creature during his battle with Jirayai. We only see it for a short time so we don't know too much about it other than the fact that it has the ability to make bubbles.
Pain's Giant Chameleon
Pain summons this creature during his battle with Jirayai. This creature has the ability to blend in with his surroundings rendering himself naked to the human eye. Jirayai uses some kind of barrier supposedly made of chakra to find this creature.
Pain's Giant Dog
Pain summons this creature during his battle with Jirayai. This creature is a nine headed dog that splits into nine different dogs whenever it attacks.
Pain's Giant Bird
Pain summons this creature during his battle with Jirayai. It is not known if this creature has any special powers as it is only seen for a short time. Like the other summons, it shares Pain's Rinnegan eyes and his array of piercing.
Pain's Giant Ram
Pain summons this creature during his battle with Jirayai. Nothing is known of this creature. Just like the other summons it shares Pain's Rinnegan eyes and his array of piercing.
Pain's Giant Panda
Pain summons this creature during his battle with Jirayai. Pain uses this creature to block one of Jirayai's attacks.
Interestingly enough, all of his summoned creatures hold the eye pattern of the Rin'negan and a large amount of piercing. To also be noted, Pein is not required to touch a surface or even to draw blood when he utilizes the Kuchiyose no Jutsu
Pein's Chakra Detecting Rain (Unnamed)
This unnamed Ninjutsu technique allows Pein to blanket a wide area with a downpour of rain. He can maintain a connection to the rain and tell when someone is obstructing it. This also allows him to detect the individual's Chakra level and skill.
Fūton: Reppūshō (Wind Release: Strong Wind Palm)
風遁: 烈風掌
Fūton: Reppushō is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Wind Element. After forming the needed hand seals, Pein will send a strong gust of wind towards his target. When acting in conjunction with another thrown weapon, the wind can increase its power and deadliness.
Fūton: Kōryū no Jutsu (Wind Release: Art of the Alternating Currents)
風遁: 交流の術
Utilizing the wind element, this Jutsu causes multiple high speed wind currents to form in designated locations. These wind currents move quickly enough to deny the ability to move freely in the air. It requires a string of seven hand seals.
Wind Sword
A sword of wind is made from the user's hand.
Borud¨ (Bolt Shock)
¥Ü„Ó
An advanced form of Raiton that uses Chakra to increase the amount of bio-electricity in the brain and sends the excess down to the hands
Borud¨: Boruha (Bolt Shock: Bolt Sword)
¥Ü„Ó: ¥ÜÈÐ
A technique utilizing an advanced for of Raiton. After drawing out the bio-electricity focused in his hands, Pein can form swords of this electricity in front of his palm. The Boruha unlike the Boruken can be grasped by Pein, and he will remain unaffected by the bio-electricity. The Boruha do cause actual damage to a living opponent, and are strong enough to cut through steel. They have the side effect of causing one to become temporarily paralyzed. The paralysis lasts for five seconds.
Borud¨: Boruken (Bolt Shock: Bolt Dart)
¥Ü„Ó: ¥Üʸ
This is a technique utilizing an advanced form of Raiton. After drawing out the bio-electricity focused in his hands, Pein can form a dart made of electricity in front of his palm. It does not touch Pein, but merely floats in front of his palm. It can be launched at any time, and moves at high speed. When it hits an opponent, it causes no physical damage to a living being, though non-living items will be physically affected. Instead, the dart temporarily paralyzes the opponent. The paralysis last for fifteen seconds. More than one dart can be made at a time.
Borud¨: Daiboruken Odoroki (Bolt Shock: Great Bolt Dart Surprise)
¥Ü„Ó: ´ó¥Üʸó@¤
An advanced form of Raiton: Boruken. Instead of just forming a single dart before his palm, Pein will move his hands in any direction, and a trail of Boruken will be formed and remain stationary. When Pein forms a single hand seal, the Boruken will be launched in one of two directions; forward or backward. If the victim is hit with a large number of darts, the electricity will fry his brain, killing him. Pein can wait to use any Boruken that have been formed.
Ko¨±ton: Ko¨± Hiyoke (Rain Release: Rain Blind)
½µÓê¶Ý: ½µÓêÈÕ³ý¤±
Ko¨± Buraindo is a Jutsu for a quick escape. Upon executing the hand seals for this technique, a flash rain appears, coming down in sheets, to blanket your getaway. Repeated users of this Jutsu are fond of using Kawarimi to replace them with a splash of water. The flash rain may catch you off guard and daze you for a moment, even if you expect it.
Ko¨±ton: Ko¨±dan (Rain Release: Rain Bomb)
½µÓê¶Ý: ½µÓêŽ
This is a dense, hard ball of collected humidity from around the air. It can be used as a makeshift shield to absorb kunai and shuriken, or utilized as an offensive weapon. Once it impacts upon a target, it explodes into many droplets of water charged with Chakra. Therefore, the raindrops are akin to fragments of metal until the Chakra is dispersed into the air. A lot of water is drawn out of the air, especially if Ko¨±dan is used consecutively, and, as a result, more humidity techniques are difficult to use. If the Jutsu was used in a dry area, it would be even harder to do so.
Ko¨±ton: Ko¨±dangan (Rain Release: Rain Bullet)
½µÓê¶Ý: ½µÓêŽÍè
Only usable while raining, this Jutsu causes the raindrops around it's user to shoot at a designated target at high speed. It stops after a short period of time.
Ko¨± Bunshin no Jutsu (Art of the Rain Doppleganger)
½µÓê·ÖÉí¤ÎÐg
Only usable while raining, this Jutsu is a weaker version of the Mizu Bunshin. It can attack, but is far weaker than its creator and dissipates in one hit, or when the rain stops.
Ko¨±ton: Gogatsuyami (Rain Release: Dark Night in the Rainy Season)
½µÓê¶Ý: ÎåÔÂéœ
Essentially this is the same as Ko¨±ton: Jink¨ko¨±, with one major difference. This technique also envelopes the area in darkness with a Genjutsu/Ninjutsu combination; To the victim, the area becomes too dark to see properly, as if it were night. Added with the sound of the rain around, this effectively takes away three senses (sight, sound, smell). The victim cannot see well, cannot hear well, and the rain washes away odors, making smell useless for finding the enemy.
Ko¨±ton: Jink¨raiu (Rain Release: Artificial Thunderstorm)
½µÓê¶Ý:
This Jutsu can only be performed after the use of Ko¨±ton: Jink¨ko¨±. It essentially powers up the rain caused by the first Jutsu. The user must pour in a larger amount of Chakra, making this technique more obvious than Jink¨ko¨±. The user is able to increase the power of the rain to a high level, turning it into a thunderstorm: an Elite-ranked or higher shinobi using this technique could increase the power of this technique to that of a typhoon. However, even though the enemy can be severely hampered by the force of the storm, the user is also affected.
Ko¨±ton: To¨±ko¨± (Rain Release: Winter Rain)
½µÓê¶Ý: ¶¬½µÓê
A technique that requires rain to be present, This Jutsu causes the temperature of the rain to drop dramatically, to the point of freezing. The enemy¡¯s body temperature could lower gradually if they are exposed to the rain, causing extreme discomfort along with disorders pertaining to cold exposure: hypothermia, trench foot, frost nip, et cetera. Frostbite is highly uncommon, but very possible.
Ko¨±ton: Togeko¨± (Rain Release: Stinging Rain)
½µÓê¶Ý: ´Ì½µÓê
A technique that requires rain to be present, This Jutsu causes the rain to ¡®sharpen¡¯, producing a stinging sensation when it impacts against the bare skin. When used in a heavy rainstorm, this technique could cause quite a bit of discomfort to an unprepared individual.
Ko¨±ton: Nebaiko¨± (Rain Release: Sticky Rain)
½µÓê¶Ý: Õ³½µÓê
A technique that requires rain to be present, This Jutsu causes the rain to attain a sticky texture, clinging to the surface of whatever happens to be exposed to the downpour. Not only does the stickiness of the rain slightly impair the enemy, but in a heavy rainstorm the enemy could be weighed down by the sheer weight of enough water sticking to them.
Ko¨±ton: Ko¨±sh¨±ch¨± (Rain Release: Rain Concentration)
½µÓê¶Ý: ½µÓ꼯ÖÐ
A technique that requires rain to be present, This Jutsu allows the user to concentrate the downpour of rain into a specific area, or target. The latter usage requires the user to know the location of the enemy. A small amount of Chakra is drained at a steady rate when this is active.
Ko¨±ton: Ko¨±yaiba (Rain Release: Rain Blade)
½µÓê¶Ý: ½µÓêÈÐ
This Ko¨±ton Jutsu requires a blade. Catching water on the blade, the ninja will whip it toward his enemy. Enhanced with Chakra, the water will rip through virtually anything and travel long distances. The technique is J¨nin-level, yet becomes significantly more powerful and destructive depending on which rank a person is above J¨nin. Few barriers can hold up to the capabilities of this technique when used by an Elite-level ninja or higher. It is also important to note that a larger sword will cause greater damage, due to being able to collect more water.
Genjutsu:
Ko¨±ton: Ikasamano Ko¨± Bunshin (Rain Release: False Rain Clone)
½µÓê¶Ý: ÈçºÎ˜”¤Î½µÓê·ÖÉí
This Genjutsu technique will cause the user to vanish from all five senses. Able only to be used during rain, the victim will see a silhouette of the user through the rain. If attacked, this silhouette will reveal the user being struck by the technique, and killed. The dead body will appear to be the user, and as a distraction, enable the user to attack undeterred.
Taijutsu:
Ameippo no Jutsu (Art of the Rain Step)
ÓêÒ»ši¤ÎÐg
A movement method developed by Amegakure Shinobi, Amesippo allows an Ame-nin to travel at high speeds over wet or dampened terrain without making noise or slipping on substances. Special movement patterns even prevent the sound of the rain touching them from being released to the surrounding area, making it an effective stealth or traveling technique.
Amekaiz¨ no jutsu (Art of Rain Adaptation)
Óê¸ÄÔì¤ÎÐg
Living their entire lives and training in the pouring rain has developed their senses to deal with the setback. As Rain normally disrupts hearing, scent, and even sometimes vision, Ame shinobi have been trained to detect opponents through the rain, able to look through heavy downpours and hear movements beyond falling water.
Possible Family
Rokudou Sennin (Sage of the Six Paths)
Little is known about this man. He was the first person to create the most powerful techniques called ninjutsu. This is the reason why many ninjas called him founder of the ninja world. He is said to be the strongest ninja in the world because of his rinnegan power.
